Operation Thor

45 cannabis plants worth €36,000 seized in Cavan

A man was arrested and then released, and a file is being prepared for the DPP.

GARDAÍ DISCOVERED AND seized 45 cannabis plants during a search at a house in Glenlara, Co Cavan yesterday.

The plants are thought to have a street value of €36,000 pending analysis.

A male, aged 24, was arrested and taken to Cavan garda station where he was detained under the provisions of section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 as amended.

He was released that evening and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Gardaí from the crime and drugs unit searched the house as part of Operation Thor, a garda operation focusing on tackling organised crime operations in Ireland.
