Ed Sheeran is returning to Ireland next year, and people are being warned to avoid touts when trying to buy a ticket to his gigs.

With a variation on that theme, a Coldplay fan who went to last weekend’s Croke Park gig spent €200 to get his hands on a ticket, despite the face value being far lower.

There was some financial comeback for Ballymun man Jamie Harrington, however, who was given €50 by Coldplay frontman Chris Martin after telling him the story in a pub in central Dublin.
