DUBLIN FIRE BRIGADE battled what it described as two “substantial” fires last night.
Three fire trucks were called to Phoenix Motor Centre on Prussia Street in Dublin 7 at about 9.30pm. DFB said it took two hours to get the blaze under control.
Gardaí said the scene is being preserved and investigations are ongoing.
At 4.08am, three trucks also had to deal with a fire at Brasserie Sixty6, a restaurant on South Great George’s St, Dublin 2.
DFB again described the blaze as substantial, saying it took about two-and-a-half hours to extinguish.
There are no reports of any injuries in either fire.
In a statement released this afternoon, Brasserie 66 said it reopened today at 4pm.
A spokesperson said:
“It’s business as usual. Fortunately the concrete building ensured that the basement fire was contained and after an overnight clean up by dedicated staff, the restaurant (which was unaffected by the fire) is ready for orders as usual.”
