No injuries after suitcase detonates near refugee reception centre in Germany

GERMAN POLICE SAY there are no injuries and no danger after a suitcase detonated near a reception centre for refugees.

Police say that no explosive device exploded in the incident and that there are no injuries.

Bavarian police were called to the scene at about 2.15pm after witnesses had reported hearing an explosion.

A suitcase was then seen to be on fire and explosive experts examined the scene. It has been confirmed that there were no explosives inside.

Local broadcaster BR24 says that the detonation may have been caused by aerosol cans.

Police say there was nothing inside the suitcase.

Police now say they are looking for the owners of the suitcase and a searching the area.

They have released descriptions of two people they wish to speak to, a woman about 25 years old with black hair and a man about 30 years old who had shaved black hair and a Mediterranean appearance.
