HOW MANY CANS of hairspray does it take to create the world’s tallest mohawk?
According to 40-year-old Kazuhiro Watanabe, who has just made it into the Guinness World Records with the tallest mohawk in the world, it takes two hours, one can of gel and three cans of hairspray – plus the help of more than one stylist.
The fashion designer from Tokyo said he grew his 3foot, 8.6 inch hairdo to rebel against the conformity of Japanese society.

Watanabe is one of the many people featured in the newest version of the Guinness World Records book, which has just been released.
The book also features Moustafa Adel Ismail, who has the world’s largest upper-arm circumference- or ‘guns’, which make him bear more than a little resemblance to a certain Popeye.

Then there is Jackstock, the world’s tallest donkey (he’s 5ft 1 inch tall); Steve Petrick who has the largest collection of Harry Potter memorabilia; ‘Trouble’ the tallest cat (19in tall); and Zac the Macaw, who has achieved the most basketball slam dunks by a parrot in one minute (22, in case you were wondering).
The new Guinness World Records 2013 book is out now.
