Iran’s space monkey doesn’t look happy

This little guy is the Yuri Gagarin of Iran’s monkeys. He looks pretty unhappy about that, though.

IRAN SAID TODAY that it had successfully sent a monkey into space.

The monkey returned “intact,” according to the Iranian Ministry of Defense, after flying to an altitude of 120 kilometres, according to the Fars news agency in Iran.  Here’s a still picture of the monkey in a vest, released by Iranian TV via @MahirZeynalov on twitter.

Looks like someone has had better days.

Iran is not the first country to shoot a monkey into orbit. The U.S., France and Russia have all launched monkeys, which, to be fair, have looked equally unhappy.
