The Jaguar E-Pace baby SUV will arrive in time for Christmas

The E-Pace is the smaller sibling of the F-Pace and the I-Pace.

THE MUCH ANTICIPATED new Jaguar E-Pace compact SUV will make its Irish debut in Jaguar Land Rover showrooms early next month.

Jaguar may have been late to the SUV party but its first offering, the F-Pace, made such a splash in the market that has become the fastest selling model in Jaguar’s 95-year history. So it was inevitable that they would make another one.

Enter the E-Pace, the smaller sibling to the F-Pace and I-Pace, which will rival the likes of the BMW X1 and Audi Q3.

The five-seat compact SUV has plenty of family-friendly features including up to four 12-volt charging points and five USB connections as well as a 4G Wi-Fi hotspot for up to eight devices.

Its boot can hold 577 litres and expands to a pleasing 1,234 litres. The all-steel chassis allows for max braked towing of 1,800kg.

As standard, the E-Pace features the latest generation of Jaguar’s Touch Pro infotainment system with natural voice control technology, a 10-inch touchscreen interface and a customisable home screen.

An optional 12.3-inch full colour digital TFT instrument panel and choice of two premium audio systems developed with Meridian are also available.

The E-Pace and E-Pace R-Dynamic (the sportier model) are available with Standard, S, SE and HSE specification packs and a choice of five powertrains, with three diesel and two petrol engines. The 2.0-litre four-cylinder Ingenium diesel powerplant is available in 150hp, 180hp and 240hp outputs, while the pair of 2.0-litre four-cylinder Ingenium petrol turbo units deliver 249hp or 300hp.

The range-topping model with the 300hp unit comes with an Active Driveline all-wheel drive system and a 0-100km/h time of 6.4 seconds.

To attract customers from the get go, Jaguar Land Rover Ireland announced a limited edition launch price of €36,000 for the E-Pace 150hp 2.0-litre diesel i4 model with manual transmission. Normally prices would be around €2,000 higher.

There is also another limited edition model available for the first year of sale only. The E-Pace First Edition is powered exclusively by Jaguar’s 180hp Ingenium diesel or 249hp Ingenium petrol engines paired with the nine-speed ZF automatic transmission. First Edition models are based on the R-Dynamic SE specification pack.
