What’s this then?

This is the Mercedes-Benz S-Class. It symbolises the ultimate in driving comfort and elegance and this particular example is priced at €87,950.

Fancy! But what’s so special about it?

Being the flagship motor of Mercedes, it is packed full of magnificent features; the latest and greatest technology; and outstanding performance and driving dynamics. It shows off the best of what Mercedes can do.

So what can it do? Any standout design features?

One brilliant feature of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class is the Pre-Safe System. The system is able to identify dangerous situations in advance and initiate preventive measures to protect the occupants in the event of an impending accident. These include the reversible belt tensioning, which pulls the occupants deeper into the seats and the automatic closing of any open windows.

Impressive stuff. So, what powers this Mercedes-Benz S-Class?

Powering this model is a 3.0-litre in-line six-cylinder diesel engine, which is the most powerful diesel engine in the history of Mercedes-Benz. It is mated to a 9G-TRONIC transmission meaning you can drive it in automatic or manual mode.

Does the Mercedes-Benz S-Class have any luxurious touches?

The S-Class is one seriously luxurious motor. It is dripping with luxury and high quality materials. It has interior ambient lighting with 64 colours so you are sure to find a colour scheme to suit your mood. The interior is finished in butter-soft leather and elegant wood and the automatic climate control system allows the driver and front passenger to set temperature, air volume and air distribution independently of each other.

To help you breathe easy, dust and noxious gas sensors make sure that virtually all pollutants remain outside.

But who would drive this car?

With its blend of high-end comfort and performance, the S-Class is a favourite among the rich and famous, especially those at the top of their field. President Michael D Higgins is chauffeured around in one. Need we say more?
