The all-new Jeep Compass has just landed in Ireland

Available from January, the all-new SUV starts at €27,995.

JEEP IRELAND HAS confirmed that the second-generation Compass SUV will start from €27,995 here in Ireland and go on sale in January 2018.

The Compass sits between the Renegade and a Cherokee in terms of size and there will be four engines in the range. The single petrol option is a 1.4-litre MultiAir four-cylinder turbo with 140hp and front-wheel drive.

There will be three diesels to choose from: the 120hp 1.6-litre MultiJet with front-wheel drive and a choice of a 140hp or 170hp 2.0-litre model. Both these 2.0-litre models come with all-wheel drive. All models come with a six-speed manual transmission, except for the 170hp diesel, which gets a nine-speed automatic as standard.

Trim levels consist of Sport, Longitude and Limited and when combined with the engine options this makes for an eight-model line-up.

Sport trim is only available on the 120hp 1.6-litre diesel and this model features 16-inch alloys, LED tail lights, a leather multifunction steering wheel, a 60:40 split rear seat, air-conditioning, cruise control, forward collision warning plus and lane departure warning. Prices start at €27,995 for this model.

The Longitude trim can be had with the 1.4 petrol, the 120hp 1.6-litre diesel and 140hp 2.0-litre diesel. This trim sees the car get 17-inch alloys, front foglamps, power folding mirrors, keyless entry and go, dual-zone climate control, rear park distance control and reversing camera and an 8.4-inch infotainment system with satnav, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The 1.4-litre petrol Longitude costs €30,145, while the 1.6-litre and 140hp 2.0-litre Longitude diesels cost €31,245 and €34,695 respectively.
