Man arrested after firearm seized in Kildare

The 29-year-old is now in custody.

A MAN IN his late 20s was found with a firearm in a car in Kildare yesterday evening.

He was arrested after the discovery was made and he’s now in custody at Clondalkin Garda Station.

The firearm was recovered when Gardaí from the Organised Crime Unit stopped the car on the Naas Road close to Kill during a planned operation.

Local Gardaí supported the search in which a handgun and ammunition was found.

The 29-year-old driver of the car is being held under Section 30 of The Offences against the State Act, 1939.
