Man in his 40s hospitalised after group of youths left him with facial stab wounds

The man in his 40s was confronted by a number of youths.

A MAN IN his 40s has been stabbed a number of times in Louth.

It happened in Knockbridge village at around 10.45pm last night.

The man received injuries to his face, which were caused by a knife, when he was confronted by a number of youths after leaving a pub.

He was taken to Our Lady’s Hospital in Drogheda, where he received a number of stitches.

Gardaí are investigating the assault. The scene has been preserved for a technical examination and CCTV from the area is being viewed as part of the investigation.

Officers have appealed for any witnesses or anyone with information about the incident to contact Ardee Garda Station on 041-6853222.
