#HUNGARY: Pro-European conservative Péter Magyar was ceremonially sworn-in as Hungary’s new prime minister today, vowing “regime change” after nationalist Viktor Orbán’s 16 years in power.

#RUSSIA: Russian President Vladimir Putin described his war goals in Ukraine as “just” and denounced Nato in a combative address at a scaled back Victory Day parade in Russia.

#LABOUR LOSSES: Keir Starmer said bringing former prime minister Gordon Brown back into the UK government is a “future-looking” move.

THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE took part in the annual Darkness Into Light fundraiser this morning in support of suicide and self-harm prevention charity Pieta House.

The 5km walks begin in the early hours of the morning before the sun rises and finish as dawn breaks. People can also take part in the event by running, wheeling, cycling and swimming as the sun rises.

This year saw 177 walks take place from 4.15am across 18 countries.
