Mercedes-AMG previews its GLC 43 4Matic Coupé

AMG shows off its 367hp version of the GLC Coupe.

CHECK OUT THE new Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4Matic Coupé, which has a “unique combination of agility, elegance and everyday practicality”… apparently.

The 3.0-litre V6 engine with direct injection and biturbocharging delivers a maximum output of 367hp and 520Nm of torque and is mated to a 9G-Tronic automatic transmission, which drives power to all four wheels.

The combined fuel consumption figure is quoted as 8.4 litres/100km and combined CO2 emissions as 192g/km.

It accelerates 0-100km/h in 4.9 seconds and goes on to a top speed of 250km/h.

The front displays the familiar AMG diamond radiator grille with chrome pins and a louvre in high-gloss black and AMG lettering in high-gloss chrome. The air intakes in the apron feature fins in silver chrome and below that the silver chrome front splitter delivers air to the cooling modules.

The side profile is dominated by those high-gloss black-painted 19-inch AMG 5-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels.

Around the back there are chrome-plated tailpipe trim elements in a four-pipe look and an AMG apron sports trim in silver chrome.

Inside, the cabin’s upholstery is black Artico with red topstitching and red Designo seat belts, and there is a multifunction sports steering wheel in black leather with red stitching and a flattened bottom. The instrument cluster features two large round dials and a central 5.5-inch colour multifunction display.

Standard infotainment equipment includes an Audio 20 CD with 7-inch display, Frontbass, Bluetooth, audio streaming and two USB ports.

Also available in the GLC 43 4Matic Coupé is Mercedes me connect, which offers features via the Mercedes me app or the Mercedes me portal, including control of the auxiliary heating, locking and unlocking of the vehicle or the retrieval of various items of information, such as odometer reading, fuel level or range.

Driver’s aids include Active Brake Assist, Crosswind Assist, Headlamp Assist, Attention Assist and ESP Curve Dynamic Assist, as well as many optional safety features.

The split-folding rear seats fold down in the ratio 40:20:40 and there is luggage capacity of 491 to 1400 litres.

The new Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4Matic Coupé will celebrate its world premiere on 28 September 2016 at the Paris Motor Show. The sales release follows on 6 October 2016, with the market launch beginning in December 2016.
