THE MOBILE PHONE company 3 announced today that it will create another 50 jobs in Ireland.

The company will create the jobs by expanding its operations in the country, the Belfast Telegraph reports.

The new jobs will be located within the finance, retail and product development sections at its headquarters in Dublin and around the country.

Communications Minister Pat Rabbitte said: “The smartphone economy is vital to Ireland’s future and I am heartened that Three is strengthening its presence here with the addition of a further 50 new jobs to its already 400-strong workforce.”

They could do better and bring their customer support team to Ireland. It’s infuriating when trying your best to explain to an Indian based in India what your problem is. Firstly they don’t understand what you are saying nor do they care a lot of the time.

I’m lost. The implication of your comment is that the indian staff would care more if they lived here and should therefore be imported. Are you proposing some bizarre reciprocal staff swap with India?

Customer support may not be in Ireland but cancelations is, it operates out of Waterford as does iPhone support I believe

iPhone support certainly doesn’t, unless you mean hardware support which I presumed would have come from apple (on second thoughts maybe youre right, I’ve had no run ins with that section yet thank god)… Anyone who hasn’t had a run in with 3 customer care doesn’t really understand the apathy of these guys, I’m not saying Irish would be any better but at least I know I can complain properly

@ Moaning Gubderson. That is not the implication of my comment ad you can see from everyone that disagrees with you. What I am saying is, that customer support should be based in Ireland and staffed by Irish nationals mostly as the company is operating in Ireland. The same goes for any other country they operate in. People from that country work for that company. With respect to Indians, these people don’t have a clue of place names, black spots etc. They just go by what’s on the screen in front of them. This is why they can be flippant when running into trouble with your problem. Easy to pass the buck when you are living a continent away.

They used to be my mobile network but it gets on my nerves when a) they’re customer support cant under the Irish accent and b) they don’t have a clue what they’re doing and transfer you a zillion times! Defo won’t be going back there especially when the money you spend is going out of the country rather than in!!!!!
