Nearly 200 jobs to be created in Dublin, Galway and Portlaoise
Three separate companies have announced plans to create new positions for jobseekers in Dublin, Galway and Portlaoise.
ALMOST TWO HUNDRED new jobs are to be created in Galway, Dublin and Laois by three separate companies.
A total of 50 positions will be opened by US software company NEI in Galway, which is establishing an operation there in order to meet European service and product demand, RTÉ reports. The vacancies will be in manufacturing and technology support.
Minister for Enterprise Richard Bruton commented on the news, saying: ”If we are going to get through our difficulties, and if we are going to retain and create large numbers of skilled jobs, we will have to build on our strengths as a destination for foreign direct investment”.
IDA Ireland is backing the investment.
Meanwhile, the delivery company Nightline is also to create 50 new jobs, as part of a €5.5 million expansion of its Dublin headquarters, Newstalk reports. Nightline currently employs around 600 staff.
A further 93 jobs are to be created by Tesco with the opening of a new store in Portlaoise, Co Laois.
