Man killed in early morning crash in Offaly

The man’s jeep left the road and he was fatally injured in the collision.

A YOUNG MAN has lost his life in a road collision in county Offaly overnight.

The incident occurred at 2.30am this morning in Clonlee, Kinnity. A male driver who was in his early 20s was killed when his jeep left the road.

He was the sole occupant of the car and no other vehicle was involved. His body was removed to Tullamore Regional Hospital where a post mortem is due to take place.

The road is closed this morning for a forensic examination and local diversions are in place.
