Asthma

This woman doesn't smoke but cigarettes have almost killed her

Just how dangerous is passive smoking?

BREDA FLOOD IS a school principal from Wexford who has never smoked.

However, she has required emergency medical care because of cigarettes.

Speaking at a press briefing organised by a number of health organisations and charities, she noted that smoking is the most dangerous trigger for asthma attacks which claim the life of one person a week in Ireland. They also result in thousands more sufferers being hospitalised.

She tells her own personal story of the dangers of passive smoking.
