Police issue appeal after burglars steal three rare parrots and five terrapins

The animals were stolen last weekend from a commercial premises.

THE POLICE IN Northern Ireland have issued an appeal for the public’s assistance following a burglary in which three parrots and five terrapins were stolen from Seaforde Gardens and Tropical Butterfly House in County Down.

One of the parrots is an Amazonian parrot, while the other two are described as African Greys.

The animals were stolen from a commercial premises last weekend.

Police said the burglary occurred in the Seaforde Road area of Downpatrick some time between 6.30pm on Sunday 11 May and 9am Monday 12 May.

Police want anyone with any information about the incident to contact Newcastle police or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.
