Three arrested after armed robbery in Clondalkin

The suspects had raided a retail premises in Dublin early this morning.

GARDAÍ IN DUBLIN have arrested three suspects following an armed robbery at a retail premises in Clondalkin this morning.

At about 8am, three men armed with an imitation firearm and knives entered the store on Tower Road. They threatened staff before making off on foot with a quantity of cigarettes and cash.

Three men – all aged in their 20s – were apprehended and arrested by uniformed Gardaí in the vicinity a short time later. All of the stolen property, as well as the knives and imitation gun, was recovered. A car believed to have been taken in the Lucan area earlier was also located.

The suspects are currently being detained under section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act at Clondalkin Garda Station.

There were no reported injuries during the incident and the investigation is ongoing.
