AN IRISH WOMAN live tweeting her journey to the UK for an abortion is getting international reaction.
The woman is accompanied by another woman who is helping her document the journey via the Twitter account @twowomentravel.
The tweets which began early this morning each mention the Taoiseach Enda Kenny’s Twitter account, @EndaKennyTD.
The twitter bio reads: “Two Women, one procedure, 48 hours away from home.”
The account has received a great deal of support, both in Ireland and abroad, trending in the UK after being featured in an article on The Guardian website.
The newspaper points out that about 10 women a day are thought to travel from Ireland to Great Britain or another European country for the procedure.
The women have also garnered support from the well-known British TV presenter James Cordon this morning.
Taoiseach Enda Kenny has not responded to any of the tweets directed at him.
TheJournal.ie asked for a comment from Kenny in relation to the tweets, but none has been received at the time of publication.
