Each week, we step inside a reader’s home, and indulge in some copycat behaviour, creating a shopping list inspired by their interior style.
This week, Ashling Kelly’s (@the_home_where_nothing_matches) calming bedroom was our inspiration.
“This room is north facing and as a result it doesn’t get a great amount of light during the day,” says Ashling. “This caused the walls to be very shadowy and simply look a tad depressing. Of course, I needed to fix that and make it the cosy, relaxing retreat a bedroom should be.”
I opted for soft lighting, fairy lights, linen bed covers, a soft headboard and velvet curtains to create a comfortable and cosy atmosphere.
H&M, TK Maxx and Ikea were Ashling’s main ports of call when decorating this space. Below are six high street items that’ll help you get the look in your own home…
1. Cotton duvet cover set, €49.99, H&M
If linen bedding is out of your budget, brushed cotton is a more affordable alternative that’s just as cosy.
2. Gold string lights, €11.80, Oliver Bonas
Fairy lights instantly create a warm and inviting atmosphere.
3. Decorative vine, €13, Urban Outfitters
We love how Ashling incorporated her fairy lights into a decorative vine.
4. Forest print, €9.95, Desenio
This print matches the green and pink theme perfectly.
5. Pink abstract print, €22, Fy
… As does this one.
6. Green cushion cover, €5.50, Ikea
Give old cushions a new lease of life with a new cover.
