Biography

Elected as a member of Wicklow County Council in 1991, he held his seat until 2006 when he ran for the Dáil. He was elected as a TD in 2007 and left Fianna Fáil in 2008. After failing to get re-elected to the Dáil he was once again elected as a councillor in 2014. He is a former cathaoirleach of Wicklow County Council.

Why should someone vote for you (in 140 characters or fewer)?

I am independent and will work for decent health, housing, education and employment opportunities for all of the citizens of this nation.

Q.

What is your number one priority for your constituency?

Housing, jobs, education, health, pylons and water charges are the main issues in Wicklow/East Carlow. I will address them all.

What one thing would you like to do in your first 100 days of the new Dáil if you are elected?

I would seek to have Irish Water abolished and remove the burden of water charges from the people of Ireland.
