Councillor Des Hurley has been selected as one of Labour's candidates in Carlow-Kilkenny. The Graingecullen man has been a member of Carlow County Council since 1991 and is also currently a representative on Carlow Town Council. Cullen has served two separate terms as the town council's Cathaoirleach, in 2005/2006 and again in 2009/2010. This is his first general election campaign.
