James Breen

12
Constituency: Clare
Date of Birth: 23/05/1945

Former TD James Breen is running as an independent candidate in Clare. The 65-year-old is looking to bounce back from the disappointment of 2007 when he failed to retain the Dáil seat which he won as an independent five years previously. Breen, who served as a Fianna Fáil councillor in Clare before splitting from the party, was eliminated on the final count in 2007 having managed to secure only 9 per cent of first preference votes. He was re-elected to Clare County Council on the first count in 2009.
