John Hillery

9
Constituency: Clare
Date of Birth: 1957

Dr. John Hillery has been nominated to partner Timmy Dooley as Fianna Fáil seek to retain their two seats in the Clare constituency. Hillery's nomination comes in the wake of the decision of Minister for Defence Tony Killeen not to seek re-election. A former president of the Irish medical council, the Banner native claims to have maintained strong ties with his home county despite having lived in Dublin since childhood. He unsuccessfully ran for the Seanad in 2007.
