Constituency: Cork East

Malachy Harty is the Green Party's candidate in Cork East. Harty was the party's candidate in the June 2009 local elections. On that occasion, he was unsuccessful in his attempt to win election to Cork County Council and Midleton Town Council.



Policies
  • Reduced dependency on non-renewable resource extraction
  • Promote high skill, high value, local micro enterprise centres
  • Improve cycling facilities and public transport services with an overall aim to improve quality of life for all
  • Stop the proposed toxic waste and municipal waste incinerators. Promote waste reduction, composting and recycling

Harty is currently working as a freelance photographer and also studying International Development and Food Policy at UCC.
