John Adams is running as an independent candidate in affiliation with The People's Convention. A resident of St Lukes, Mr Adams is originally from Dublin but has lived in Cork since 1983. He is a former member of the Green Party.

Policies

• Nationalize the gas fields in Mayo, and invite the government of Norway in to run them as a partner
• Reverse the deal Bertie Ahern made with the Catholic Church for taxpayers to pay all of the church's bills after the abuse claims
• Complete overhaul of planning process
• Promotion of forestry and tourism
