Outgoing TD Kathleen Lynch will be one of two candidates run by the Labour Party in the competitive Cork North-Central constituency. The former Democratic Left TD was first elected to Dáil Eireann in a 1994 by-election held following the death of Gerry O'Sullivan. Lynch joined the Labour Party following the merger between the parties in 1999 and is currently Labour's Spokesperson on Disability and Equality.
