Councillor Kevin Murphy has been selected by Fine Gael as a candidate in Cork South-West. Murphy has represented the Bandon electoral area on Cork County Council since 1988, topping the area's polls in 2004. In 2002 and 2007, he sought election to Seanad Eireann. However, both campaigns were ultimately unsuccessful. This is his first general election campaign.
