Noel Harrington

Castletownbere man Noel Harrington has been nominated by Fine Gael as they attempt to hang on to the two seats which they currently hold in Cork South-West. Harrington has served as a member of Cork County Council for the Bantry area since 1999 and was elected as Mayor of County Cork in 2008. He was unsuccessful in his attempt to win a seat on the Seanad's Industrial and Commercial Panel in 2007.

Harrington played at right half-back on the Beara team which won the Cork Senior Championship in 1997.
