Senator Frances Fitzgerald is one of two Fine Gael candidates in Dublin Mid-West. Before her first election to Dáil Eireann in 1992, Fitzgerald was active as a social worker in Ballymun and Inchicore. She served two terms as a TD for Dublin South-East from 1992-2002, though she was unsuccessful in her attempts to secure re-election in 2002 and 2007. In 2007, she was elected by the Seanad's Labour Panel and is the current Fine Gael Seanad Spokesperson on Health.
