Outgoing Fianna Fáil deputy John Curran is standing for re-election in Dublin Mid-West. Following three years of service on South Dublin County Council, Curran was elected to Dáil in 2002, topping the polls in Dublin Mid-West. In 2007, he was returned to his seat by his constituents, increasing his vote share to over 23 per cent of first preferences and securing his re-election on the first count. Curran was the Government Chief Whip from March 2010 until the dissolution of the 30th Dáil.
