Averil Power

Constituency: Dublin North East

Averil Power is a Fianna Fáil candidate for Dublin North-East. This is Power's first general election campaign. In the June 2009 local elections, she challenged for a seat on Dublin City Council but was eliminated on the nineth count. Power has worked as a policy adviser in the Departments of Education and Science, Social and Family Affairs, and Tourism.



Policies
  • Protection of current jobs and creation of new ones by reducing costs for business
  • Reform of the health system
  • Political reform- strengthening of local government and restructuring of Dáil sitting hours

Power has been active in politics since her student days when she was elected as President of Trinity College's Student Union.
