      The Green Party's Trevor Sargent will be the party's sole candidate in Dublin North as he attempts to win a fifth term of office. Sargent was leader of the Green Party from 2001 until his resignation in 2007 when it emerged that he had contacted the Gardai regarding a case involving one of his constituents. Sargent has held a number of junior ministries as part of the Fianna Fáil-Green coalition, serving most recently as Minister for Food until February 2010.
