Moycullen councillor Sean Kyne is another of Fine Gael's candidates in Galway West. Kyne, who has represented Connemara on Galway County Council since 2004, ran his first general election campaign in 2007. On that occasion, he only managed to poll less than 2,000 first-preference posts, a total which he will have to improve upon if he is to go one better this time around.
