      First-time candidate Joe Leddin has been given the nod by Labour to contest the election in Limerick City. Leddin, who is currently a member of Limerick City Council, has been active in local politics for over ten years during which time he served as Mayor of Limerick. He is a graduate of the Marketing Institute Of Ireland.

      Leddin formerly worked as a parliamentary assistant for his running mate in the 2011 general election, Jan O'Sullivan TD.
