Councillor Michelle Mulherin is one of four Fine Gael candidates running on the party ticket in Mayo. The Ballina-based solicitor has been active in local politics since her election to Ballina Town Council in 1999 and has also served as county councillor in Mayo since 2004. Mulherin unsuccessfully stood for election in the Mayo constituency in 2007.
