Outgoing Fine Gael TD Damien English is one of the party's three candidates in the Meath West constituency. English was first elected to the Dáil in 2002 at the age of twenty-four and was returned for a second term of office in 2007. He has held a number of spokesperson roles over the past eight years and, most recently, he was appointed as Fine Gael's Deputy Spokesperson on Finance in October 2010.
