Billy Timmins is one of two outgoing Fine Gael TDs trying to hold on to their seats in the five-seat Wicklow constituency. The 53-year-old has been a deputy in Dáil Eireann since 1997 and was successfully returned to office in 2002 and again in 2007. During his thirteen years in Leinister House, Timmins has rarely been absent from the Fine Gael front benches, serving as spokesman on Agriculture and Food, Defence, and Foreign Affairs. He is currently the party's Deputy Spokesperson on Pension & Welfare Reform.
