COVERED IN IVY and sitting on mature grounds in the Kilkenny countryside, Foxcover Cottage looks as if it’s come straight from a storybook.
An extended stone farmhouse, Foxcover Cottage has been extended, with tasteful updates that protect its original charm, appeal and character. As part of the update, the property was rewired, re-plumbed and insulated, and a new zoned heating system was installed.
Inside, the four-bed cottage spans 2,220 sq ft and is warm and welcoming throughout. The main living room is located just past the entrance to the house, with wooden floors and a fireplace adding a cosy feel. French doors provide a beautiful view of the surrounding countryside.
In the kitchen, there are modern, country-style units, terracotta tiles and sash windows, plus French doors which lead to the lush gardens. There’s space for a dining table here, plus a separate lounge area which is divided by a large bookshelf. Another smaller living room makes for an ideal space to unwind.
Upstairs, there are four double bedrooms with sash windows and wooden floors, plus a large family bathroom with a standalone bath which overlooks the gardens.
Foxcover Cottage opens to a beautiful courtyard, while a winding driveway bounded by mature trees leads to the property itself. The old outhouses on the grounds have also been upgraded, giving them the potential to be utilised by their new owners.
Despite its tranquil location, Bennettsbridge village is just a five-minute drive from Bennettsbridge village, where there’s a primary school and GAA club, alongside other amenities. Moving further afield, Kilkenny city is less than a 20-minute drive away, with a number of primary and secondary schools here.
