French police find bodies and severed leg inside missing family's home
Today’s discovery was made by police investigating disappearance of family which has been missing since the first week of April.

FRENCH POLICE HAVE launched a murder investigation after they discovered three bodies and a severed leg at the home of a family who had disappeared from Nantes earlier this month.

The AFP reports that businessman Xavier Dupont de Ligonnes, 50, told people that he was actually a secret agent and that the family had to move away under a witness protection programme.

The children’s school had been told the family was relocating to Australia.

Police investigating the family’s disappearance discovered part of a leg in the garden of their home, before uncovering three bodies.

According to a public information notice issued earlier this month, the Dupont family went missing during the first week of April. It lists the missing persons as Xavier, his wife Agnes, 48, and their four children: Arthur, 20, Thomas, 18, Anne, 16, and Benoit, 13.  The statement suggested that the family’s two Labrador dogs could be with them.
