Iraq suicide bombs kills police chief in Mosul

Two bombers detonated devices inside police building after authorities prevented a third from entering.

TWO SUICIDE BOMBERS IN Mosul, northern Iraq, have killed a police chief.

Other people may have been killed or injured in the explosions which caused a building to collapse, according to the BBC.

The police chief was known for his work targeting al Qaeda members in the region and militants had tried to kill him before, Reuters reports.

A third potential suicide bomber was killed by police before he entered the building where the other two people detonated their devices.

The AP reports that on Monday, two suicide bombers killed nine people in explosions outside a government office in Ramadi, western Iraq.
