Man charged for Australian attack on David Keohane

New Zealander brought before Sydney court.

THE MAN WHO was arrested yesterday in connection with the attack on Corkman David Keohane in 2008 has been formally charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent to murder. Kane Desmond Tupuolamoui, 21, from New Zealand, was arrested yesterday at his home in Darwin and from there he was extradited to Sydney to appear in court.

The case has been adjourned until September.

Keohane, then 29, was seriously beaten and left unconscious on a street in the Sydney suburbs. He awoke after more than 200 days in a coma after the attack, but has been left with permanent brain damage and is in a wheelchair.
