A WOMAN WHO was abducted as a baby in Florida 18 years ago has been found safe and well.
Kamiyah Mobley was taken from a hospital in Jacksonville in 1998.
Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said a DNA test has proven Mobley’s identity. Police said her biological family were informed today and are “elated”.
The sheriff’s office said a tip-off last year via a Twitter account dedicated to finding missing children led to a breakthrough in the case.
A suspect, Gloria Williams (51), was arrested today in South Carolina.
Police said that as Mobley is now an adult it will be up to her to decide if she wants to contact her biological family.
Sheriff Mike Williams told a news conference, Mobley – who has been living under a different name – appears to be healthy and is “taking it as well as you can imagine”, adding: “She has a lot to process.”
