1. #DEPRESSION The son of the late former finance minister Brian Lenihan has said his father broke down when he told him that he had depression. Tom Lenihan told Ryan Tubridy that he had “no aspirations” towards national politics.

2. #INSOLVENCY The Insolvency Service of Ireland opened its doors today. The service is reported to have been contacted by up to 4,500 people already. If you’re confused on what it does, we break it down here.

3. #BEATEN The father of a young man beaten and left in a wheelie bin in Ballymena has appealed for information. Mervyn Robinson says that his son Adam was so badly beaten, he did not recognise him.

4. #BREAKING RANKS Labour senators John Whelan and John Kelly, as well as deputy Joanna Tuffy have said that they will actively campaign against the Government on the issue of Seanad abolition.

5. #TIDY Moynalty in Co Meath has been crowned the tidiest town in Ireland. The judges of the SuperValu National Tidy Towns competition said that the town was a “genuine pleasure” to visit.
