A PILOT DIED when a stunt plane crashed while practicing tricks for a weekend air show in New York, police have confirmed.
Trooper Steven Nevel says the propeller-driven plane crashed at around 2pm local time (7pm GMT) at Stewart International Airport in the Orange County town of New Windsor. The New York Air Show is scheduled to take place there this weekend.
The pilot was the only person in the plane.
It wasn’t immediately clear what went wrong.
A woman at the air show box office says the show will go ahead as scheduled.
