What's top of your county's shopping list?

Tesco has found what items pop up more in certain counties.

DUBLIN LOVES BAGGED SALAD, Wexford is mad for mayonnaise, and Carlow just can’t get enough detergent.

Tesco has released a list of the items that appear on shopping lists more frequently in certain areas of Ireland.

Like a previous survey by the chain, in which Dublin’s favourite vegetable was found to be kale, the capital had a taste for fancy items, like chilled and bagged salad.

Others had more simple interests, such as Mayo’s above-average fondness for root vegetables and Clare’s interest in butter.

Others were more unexpected. Laois and Tipperary must have high concentrations of babies and pets respectively, with food for both being popular.

Longford buys more deodorant than any other county. No comment.
