All inbound travellers to Ireland will need a negative Covid test from Friday amid Omicron concerns

  • The requirement will apply to people arriving at ports and airports and includes travellers arriving from Britain.
  • The negative test can be a PCR test taken within 72 hours or a professionally-administered antigen test within 48 hours.
  • The new measures will be reviewed in a fortnight's time.
