Graham de Barra is an independent candidate from Cork. He is the director of Help Not Harm, an organisation that advocates for a health-based, non-punitive approach to drug policy and legislation.

The ongoing global conflict in the world is the most important issue facing the planet, as without peace all social justice and climate issues are irrelevant. That has motivated me to run on a platform that prioritises peace. There can be nothing less acceptable than the immediate end of all wars. I am using my voice to place pacifism into mainstream dialogue. We must shift away from militarization as a solution and towards less aggressive means of negotiation. Ireland’s principle of neutrality positions us to advocate for the rights of people of all ethnicities without ulterior motives.

The Left

There are currently no pacifist candidates featured in campaigns that would call for the end of all global wars. I have a clear vision in supporting peaceful resolution.

My experience in working in the field of human rights, both within the Council of Europe and domestically in Ireland through my organisation Help Not Harm qualifies me as a representative on this issue. I am young and determined to achieve my stated goal. Voting for me is a vote for peace and only candidates standing for peace will bring the EU closer to ending war. As an elected representative, I will tirelessly advocate for immediate ceasefires through peaceful resolutions.
