Catherine Ardagh has been a member of Seanad Éireann since 2016, and is currently Fianna Fail Seanad Spokesperson on Social Protection. She was previously the party Leader of the Seanad. She is from Dublin South-Central and practises as a solicitor in Crumlin. She ran unsuccessfully for the Dáil in 2016 and 2020.

I’m running in this election because I’m deeply committed to Dublin South Central and its people. I want to be a strong voice for our area to ensure the delivery of high-quality housing, education for every child, safer streets and more.

Housing is the key issue. Progress is being made with 52,256 homes commenced in the first 10 months of 2024, but there is more to do. Fianna Fáil will accelerate house building to 60,000 units per year, with a minimum of 10,000 affordable and 12,000 new social homes annually.

If elected, my first speaking time will focus on supporting families and children with additional needs. I’ll call for better disability services, more school places, and a one-stop shop for parents navigating the system. Together we can build a system that works for everyone.
